The Lanier High School Band performed the National Anthem for the Memphis Grizzlies vs. the Golden State Warriors in Memphis, Tennessee on
November 26, 2010.

The Lanier High School Bulldog Band made golden grizzly sounds at the November 26 Memphis Grizzlies vs. the Golden State Warriors game, held in Memphis at the FedEx Forum. The band performed the national anthem for the nationally televised game and was invited by the Memphis Grizzlies organization as part of their promotion of Jackson, Mississippi, Night. The invitation was prompted in part because former Lanier High School basketball standout Monta Ellis now plays professional basketball for the Golden State Warriors. Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr. attended the basketball game along with other Lanier students and friends of the community. Thanks to the generosity of Monta Ellis, an alumnus of Operation Shoestring's Project KIDS after-school program and Lanier High, a bus full of students from Lanier High and Rowan Middle School also traveled to Memphis to the game.
