Welcome to Chastain Middle School! We are excited about the prospects for the 2011-2012 school year. We have a wonderful group of students, parents, community and staff members committed to improving student achievement and providing a positive school atmosphere that enhances student learning. We will continue to work diligently to make Chastain Middle school the best school in the Jackson Public School District. We are certain, given our staff's extraordinary talents, that we will provide the type of leadership that will successfully motivate and engage our students in challenging, quality work. In order for us to achieve our goals, we are committed to professional growth, embracing collaboration, and practicing shared responsibility for school improvement.We will utilize proven instructional practices that actively engage our students in the learning process. |

Middle School is a challenging time for all students. Research indicates that middle school students undergo as much intellectual, emotional and physical development than as in the first few years of life. This means it is vital for parents, teachers and community leaders to work together to provide each child with a framework for success.
