Student Health
Jackson Public Schools cares for the well-being of its students. JPS helps meet students' health needs through partnerships with community healthcare providers as well as through the district's HealthCHEC program. Doing so positively impacts student attendance and achievement. When students feel better, they learn better.
Health Care Providers
Partnerships with Choices for Children, Jackson Hinds Comprehensive Health Center (JHCHC), University Medical Center (UMC), and the Jackson Medical Mall (JMM) enable JPS students to receive the benefit of health screenings and other preventive health services.
For more information about these partnerships and the schools they serve, visit the Health Care Providers page.
HealthCHEC
Through the HealthCHEC project, Jackson Public Schools provides primary health care services to students. School Nurses provide health education services. They will be responsible for participating in health counseling, support of nutrition and health education, and in the development of an enhanced health curriculum in the district.
For more information, visit the HealthCHEC page.
