Schools

The district has 60 schools: 7 high schools and a Career Development Center, 13 middle schools, 38 elementary schools, and the Capital City Alternative School. Students are enrolled in grades K-12, with 18 elementary schools offering pre-K classes. All JPS schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

* Bailey APAC was established as a Academic and Performing Arts middle school in 2012-13 as part of a district-wide rezoning plan. Therefore test data will be available for the middle school for the first time in 2013. The Mississippi Department of Education issued a school report card for Bailey Magnet High School for 2012. The school's former students attend Callaway, Lanier, and Murrah.
