Background Research Analyst
Operates a computer terminal to query input and obtains data by scanning fingerprint cards through computer network system to FBI; verifies electronic fingerprint images for submitting and retrieving information via FBI; examines and verifies negative findings on applicants.
Security Research Analyst
Codes and inputs incident reports into computer; studies incident reports of certain targeted crime categories; prepares tactical strategies upon request.
Campus Enforcement Officer
Patrols and maintains all areas of the school to prevent theft, vandalism, illegal entry, as well as unauthorized vehicle and illegal parking; conducts limited criminal investigations under the supervision of a municipal or county law enforcement agency and presents investigative results to the local law enforcement agency of criminal violations on school grounds. State certified MILO.
Fingerprint Technician
Produces two finger print cards for each applicant that the school district intends to make an offer of employment; submits, electronically, fingerprint cards to the F.B.I. in the absence of the Background Research Analyst.
Identification Analyst
Design and produce photo I.D. badges for maintaining the operation on FoxID32 system for all new and current JPS employees; report confidential information of students arrested within the JPSD as directed by the Coordinators and Director; maintains accurate information using a variety of equipment in order to properly identify students and staff members.
School Resource Officers
This is professional law enforcement work involving the safeguarding of school property against burglary, vandalism, trespassing, and other hazardous criminal or unauthorized activities as well as the maintenance of order and discipline among school students and staff. Duties include the teaching of classes in the area of expertise as well as first level counseling of students and intervening with uncooperative students. Work may be performed under the direction of an administrative superior. This officer may be employed by a municipal/county law enforcement agency or local school district. This position is sworn.
School Safety Officers
Patrols school grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles. Checks cars for parking authorization to determine if vehicles are parked in restricted areas, such as, fire hydrants, fire lanes, delivery areas, and handicapped zones. This position is non-sworn.
Security Communications Dispatch/Monitors
Receives and relays and/or dispatches routine and emergency calls for service; monitors closed circuit cameras of all sites and alerts appropriate personnel of problems as necessary. Personnel in this department works 24 hours per day; 7 days per week.
Security Patrol Officers
This is a basic duty security position in the protection of life and property for the prevention of crime and criminal activity. Work may be performed on foot or in patrol cars, with a combination of a wide range of assigned duties relative to the essential functions of the job. This shift is 24 hours per day; 7 days per week. This position is non-sworn.
Electronics Security Technician
To install district site electronic security systems and maintain them in such a condition of operation that maximum use may be made of them at all times.
