Jordan Hunter and Earnest Pate, 2012 graduates of Lanier High School, spent a week performing and touring Hawaii as members of the Mississippi Lions All-State Band. After a week at the All-State Band Camp at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi, band members performed in a concert for parents and teachers. Then they were off to Honolulu, Hawaii, where the band performed in a 4th of July parade. While visiting the island paradise, the group also enjoyed swimming on Waikiki Beach, shopping for souvenirs, touring Diamondhead Crater, and hiking along Manoa Falls.

Pate and Hunter will begin college in the fall. Pate will attend Jackson State University where he will perform with university's well-known Sonic Boom marching band. Hunter will attend Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, on an academic scholarship.
