 After placing in the Hinds County Soil and Water Conservation District's annual poster contest, Schvaie Moaton's 'Soil-to-Spoon' themed poster went on to win first place in the area competition made up of 21 county conservation districts. Schvaie was a student in Amanda Terrell's third grade classroom at Lake when he entered the contest. He and a parent, along with Mrs. Terrell will be hosted at a luncheon and awards presentation on Thursday, July 19. First, second, and third place winners receive a certificate as well as a cash prize.
