The Rotary Club Dictionary Giveaway
February 27, 2012

The Rotary Club of North Jackson recently distributed dictionaries to third graders at several JPS elementaries – Boyd, McLeod, McWillie, Casey and Spann. This is the fifth year that the club has donated dictionaries to students. Approximately 430 dictionaries have been issued out this year and over 2,000 since the program began.

After distributing the dictionaries, Rotary members led third graders in several exercises to familiarize them with their new dictionaries. It’s the goal of Rotary International to equip students’ personal libraries with resourceful tools of literacy.
