Parents & Students

JPS serves nearly 31,000 students in its 61 schools located throughout the city of Jackson. Students are enrolled in Pre-K through 12th grade with many special programs available to meet their diverse needs, including Open Doors, Academic and Performing Arts Complex, and International Baccalaureate programs, to name a few. The resources below are provided for students and their parents.

The parents of our students are critical to the increasing success of student performance throughout our district. Our parents demonstrate their willingness to be involved through participation in school PTA/PTSA organizations, school Parents for Public Schools Leadership Institute and other volunteer opportunities. Parents who want to get invovled in their child's education should start by contacting their child's school and inquiring about ways they can help.
