JUSP Programs — Active Physics/Active Chemistry

For high school physical science teachers, the district implemented the Active Physics/Active Curriculum. This curriculum adopts a thematic approach to physics and chemistry (physical science). Students learn about physics and chemistry through hands-on exploration of topics of interest. JPSD implemented this hands-on curriculum to overcome the ideological belief that physical sciences are hard courses, boring, totally driven by mathematical manipulations, and so abstract that students are unable to understand how science/math applies to everyday life.
